Eosinophil Stain Baso Clear Colourful Stains for Healthcare Facility
Testing Principle
Eosinophils are one of the inflammatory cell components and are believed to play an important role in the mechanisms of allergic diseases. The cytoplasm of eosinophils contains secondary granules, which primarily consist of basic proteins, including eosinophil cationic protein, eosinophil-derived neurotoxin, and eosinophil peroxidase. Chromotrope 2R has a strong affinity for the basic proteins in the cytoplasm of eosinophils, staining them pink or bright red. Hematoxylin stains the cell nuclei blue, creating a sharp contrast.
Stain Results
The cytoplasmic granules of eosinophils appear bright red.
The cytoplasm of eosinophilic epithelial cells, which lack granules, appears light pink or unstained.
Cell nuclei are stained blue.
Red blood cells appear light pink.
Other tissues remain unstained.
